Equestrian boots are also called riding boots. They are designed to be the best foot gear for horseback riding. Even though the definition sounds simple, there is a good reason why you have to wear them. The general idea is that these boots are capable of keeping you safe and comfortable even as you take heavy and hard terrains. You should be aware that your horseback riding jaunts are bound to involve exciting situations and even misadventures. Horseback riding boots are available in different styles and just like clothing, follow general trends. Historically speaking, equine boots were purportedly made out of higher heels which were designed towards the prevention of the boot slipping out of the stirrup. Dress boots have no ankle lacing and are stiffer - they are knee-high to help prevent injuries for fox hunters and event riders. Paddock boots are acceptable for daily rides just as the fancy cowboy or western boots that can be made from exotic leathers or synthetic cloths and may cost thousands of dollars or more. Horse riding boots have been around for a long time and they endlessly evolve in terms of style and design.
