Interesting Facts About DVD’s

Movies, normally after their release are shown at nearby theatres or multiplexes for the pleasure of the audiences. But after a few weeks, many movies are taken off the schedule of such multiplexes and theatres and then, the only way to see such movies is to find a good quality print of such movies in the form of DVD’s from the local video store.

Such movie stores generally keep a collection of old and new movies in the form of discs in DVD-R format or in the DVD recordable format. Such discs have a huge storage capacity as compared to other discs.

They can generally store data up to 4.50 GB and hence are suitable to store large volumes of data, particularly movie media as they tend to consume a lot of space. They come in two formats DVD-R or dash format and the DVD+R or plus format.

The data which is once stored in these discs cannot be changed or written over. This is again a suitable and profitable point which makers this kind of disc score over other discs. This is another reason why many old and classic rare DVD’s of many movies are in the DVD-R format.
